What does "ex-bin" mean? |
Ex-bin means collected by the customer's truck, no cartage. |

How is cartage calculated? |
Cartage is calculated on distance from Hillview Quarries in Dromana, Mornington Peninsula and type of truck required. Refer to CartageRates. |
How do I calculate how much stone I need? |
Calculate the area by measuring the width and length of the area to be covered and multiply those figures together. Then multiply the result by the depth you require. This will give you the cubic metres needed. To get an estimated tonne required, multiply the cubic metres result by 2, or more precisely - Crushed rock - cubic metres * 1.55, Screenings - cubic metres * 1.33 |
What does minimum cartage mean? |
Minimum cartage is the minimum payment that has to be made for cartage of materials. For example, if you ordered 6 tonne of rock, you would have to pay cartage for 10 tonne (single axle truck). |
| Do you accept cheques? | No, we do not accept cheques, you can pay by Visa or Mastercard over the phone at the time of ordering. |
| Can I select my own rocks? | No, due to public safety we cannot allow members of the public into the quarry. You will need to view our rocks on display and advise staff of any special requirements. We will endeavour to meet your requirements, but please understand we can only work with what’s available. |
| I only want a small amount of rock, what is your minimum delivery amount? | Minimum delivery is 4 tonne. |
| Are there any restrictions on delivery of rocks? | No. We deliver six days a week. We do require a week’s notice before delivery, and cannot guarantee time of delivery. |
| What are your operating hours? | Monday to Friday we operate from 7am to 5pm Saturday we operate from 7am to 12pm. |
| How do I apply for sponsorship or a donation? | Requests for financial or product donations must be made in writing to the CEO of Hillview Quarries, outlining the reason for request. |
